The Moore the Merrier: Summer Sizzler

Look, I know it's summer...but BOY has it been HOT! It's almost too much for this girl to handle. We have been busy little bees around the Moore household. One big event after another...

June started out with my cousin Mallory Rudy's bridal shower. Her wedding is now just DAYS away! How exciting! The next weekend my OTHER cousin Brooke had her bachlorette party...I was invited and we had one heck of a time! I love to dance and eat good food! I accomplished both! (I did gain a little weight that weekend...but it was worth it and has since been shed again!) The next weekend was one of my very best friends, Meredith Dougherty's, baby shower. She is having a baby boy in a little over a week...I am beyond excited for his arrival as well! That same weekend Tyler attended his good friend, Dirk's, batchelor party...he just so happens to be the groom of my cousin Brooke...making their wedding DOUBLE special for our family! On the 19th was Tyler's third Father's day! He slept most of the day but we celebrated him anyway! The next weekend we attended Tyler's cousin Amanda Jones Aeschleman's wedding on Friday evening! It was a beautiful ceremony followed by an equally gorgeous reception. Tyler had to work that night so Lucy, Will and I decided to invite ourselves over to Julie and Kevin's for the night. The next day we had a mini family reunion with some of the Jones crew! It was so fun to see all of the kids playing together. Kevin had a mini water-park set up for the kids and they had a blast! Sunday, June 26th was two special events...Charles Brian was blessed and it was Benjamin Joseph's 4th birthday!!! Where did the time go? I swear that kid was just born. He had a Car's birthday party and all of the kids sported Car's shirts. They had so much fun throwing water ballons and running through the sprinkler! I'm proud of both of my nephew's!

Whew....because June was SO hectic we decided to take the first weekend of July off and do NOTHING! Other than getting the laundry caught up and the five inches of dust off of everything in the house the only thing we did was head out to the park on Saturday to ride a few carnival rides. Will was terrified...I know why but I won't tell on myself just yet! Lucy LOVES to ride everything. She even rode the scrambler with Allison and I...they both loved it...I was sick as a dog!

This past weekend was a busy but WONDERFUL weekend! Friday Tyler and I took off of work early to attend Dirk and Brooke's rehearsal dinner. Tyler's sister, Stephanie, watched Lucy and Will until Julie came to pick them up...they had a sleep over at Nana's! Tyler and I had a nice drive to Aviston to the Hidden Valley Winery. What a gorgeous place. The rehearsal was quick and the dinner was out of this world. We visited with family and friends, we laughed, cried, ate, drank, laughed some more!!! It was a perfect evening! The next morning my Aunt June and cousin Lori picked me up early to head back to the winery to prepare the girls for the big event! I have to say thing went very smoothly! The wedding party looked beautiful and Brooke looked like a dream! The ceremony was outside and just as it started to begin on that very warm, sunny day there was a breeze that floated across the water and over the anxious crowd. It was so perfect! As Brooke approached her groom I noticed Dirk whisper "I love you!" to his sweet bride...it made my heart sing! I wish them all the happiness in the world! Their wedding reception was everything a wedding reception should be...beautiful, funny, unique, delicious, touching and FUN!!! Tyler and I danced until the lights came on...it was a GREAT weekend!

This next weekend we are going rafting with the Moore siblings! We are pumped! Lucy and Will are staying with Nana Susan and Papaw Jim...they are pumped...SEE everyone wins!!!

Will is starting to really come into his own here lately! His second brithday is the 24th of this month. It doesn't seem possible that a year has passed already! He's talking so much...he sings and says his ABC's. His favorite songs right now are "Baa, baa black sheep", "Itsy bitsy spider", "Hokey pokey", "Row, row, row your boat" and "This little light of mine." My goal tonight is to try and record him singing with me tonight! I don't know if he'll agree or not but that's my plan. IF I get him to cooperate I'll post a video :) He's so cute!

Lucy is learning a lot too...her learning is usually geared more towards manners but we are getting there. She is still the most beautiful little girl I've ever seen. It's hard because she owns such a big part of my heart it's so hard to be the teacher in her life. She's still sweet and loving...and 1/2 of my pride and joy!

Over the past seven months I also have grown tremendously. It seems like I am being reminded over and over to live each day to the fullest! My Dad always says, Every Day is a Gift! I agree. I'm trying to live that mindset. Sure there are loved ones that live far away, and things don't always go the way I anticipate. I get mad and lose my temper...but I am thanking my God each and every night for the blessings in my life. I am recognizing little moments in my life that make me smile and give me that warm feeling all over. I am trying to surround myself constantly with people I love and admire. Life is so much more meaningful that way! We are only human...we're going to have bad days. It's just SO important that we enjoy what we are right now...it could be gone tomorrow!
