My one and only...

A few weeks ago, on my lunch hour, I came home and when I pulled into the driveway something caught my eye.  As I got out of the car I noticed I had a new addition to my landscaping.  If I'm being completely honest I have a black thumb.  I have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to taking care of a yard or plants or anything outside.  Ever since we bought this house I have had the intentions of figuring out what plants live in my yard AND how to care for them.  It's been three years and it hasn't happened.  Anyhoo...this particular day I arrived home to find the most beautiful tulip standing tall in proud in my yard.  She was so beautiful that I had to get some pictures of her...my neighbors drove by while I was photographing her with the kind of look on their face like, "oh, look, how sad...she has to take pictures of her ONE flower as proof that it CAN happen."  But I don't care...I am proud!  Since that day I have taken some time to get out there and clean out some of my landscaping.  I raked the old leaves out, pulled some weeds and smacked some of my plants around.  To my amazement my yard is coming alive!  I have flowers blooming, plants growing and I'm seeing things I've never seen before.  It's not Yard of the Month, for sure, but I think it's beautiful!
