Our morning started off with Lucy lecturing Will about how he just wasn't 'big' enough to go to school yet. "Listen, buddy, next year you can go to school like me...ok! When you get big you can go to the store, and pick out your book bag and be in Mrs. Bowen's class..k buddy! Alright buddy...ok!" Oh my, our little Lucy is mother hen to the extreme!
I have to say...our girl was beyond brave! Her friend, Brayden, from daycare is in her class this year. I am so glad they have each other. I think it helped :) Below is Lucy ALL ready for her big day!
As I was taking this picture I was yelling...OK sit down, find a seat, be careful, listen to your teacher, be nice to your friends, make sure to flush the toilet and wash your hands, don't leave the classroom unless Mrs. Bowen says you can, don't put your hands on anyone, be polite, AND HAVE FUN! I'm sure she got it!
Tonight when I got off of work the conversation when a little something like this...
Mom: Hey Lu, how was your first day of SCHOOL?!
Lucy: Great.
Mom: Did you learn a lot of really cool stuff?
Lucy: Yep and I got to ride two buses...yeah two buses...and at snack there was white milk and chocolate milk in the refrigerator but I just got white milk.
Mom: Oh, good, you like white milk. Did you have fun and take care of Brayden?
Lucy: Yeah, I watched Brayden.
Mom: No body cried did they Lu??? (like you???)
Lucy: OH, you mean the girl with the headband...yep she cried.
If today was any indication of how this school year is going to go....it's gonna be a GREAT year! :)
