This morning when I was in the shower I was thinking how thankful I am for my life. I'm thankful that I'm warm, have a nice soft bed, clean running water and so much access to good food that I actually pay Weight Watchers to teach me how to back away from the table!
I'm praying for the people in Japan today...what devastation they have seen in the past week and it just continues. I can't even imagine. All I can do is pray that God will wrap his arms around those people and give them some sort of peace to help them overcome this tragedy.
Thursday we are taking Lucy to one of the best children's hospitals in the world to have her leg worked on. I'm nervous and anxious thinking about it but I know it is the right thing to do. I am praying for a successful surgery and quick recovery. The last time we were at Cardinal Glennon for Lucy's appointment I was looking around the playroom that the children can use while waiting to be called for their appointment. Every child in that room (excluding Lucy) was hooked up to some sort of machine whether it be chemo or some other medication, some had bald heads, others had very obvious physical deformities...I was thanking God that her problem seemed very minor compared to all of her peers in the room. BUT one other thing I noticed was how upbeat all of the kids acted. I was so happy to see that the impression in the room wasn't a sad one but one of optimism and normalcy. I decided right then and there...little kids are MUCH better patients than adults!
I will keep our blog updated with Lucy's recovery! Please keep her in your prayers.

ReplyDeleteI will be praying for little Lucy!
I am also going to Cardinal Glennon with my most recent pregnancy; the baby has a severe birth defect.
You are in wonderful hands.
